How can you recognize the operating system used?

You can find information about the version of your operating system in the control panel of your PC. Select the menu item “Hardware”. You will find the necessary information in the first window.

Why is the displayed capacity of the USB flash drive lower than stated on the packaging?

Due to fixed standards for mass storage media such as hard disks, flash cards and USB flash drives, the system reserves a certain area for drive information and file allocation tables (MFT – Master FileTable). This is normally around 3-10%, depending on the type and size.

The MFT is important for file identification, among other things. The specification of the storage capacity of a flash storage medium is analogous to the capacity specification for hard disks and is subject to the guidelines of the SI (International System of Units). This system does not measure according to the binary system, in which 1024 MB are converted to 1 GB. The SI standard measures in powers of 1000, for example 1000 megabytes equals 1 gigabyte. This different calculation results in a difference in the capacity information.

To check the storage space on your USB flash memory, please proceed as follows:
Open the menu item “My Computer ” ? Open the menu for the Intenso USB flash memory with the right mouse button and then click on Properties with the left mouse button.

Why is the USB flash drive not working or why is the LED not lit?

Try plugging the USB flash memory into a different USB port.

If you have connected the flash memory via a USB hub, please check whether the USB hub is connected to the electrical power source. If you have a USB hub without an external power source, this could be a possible source of error.

Does the USB flash drive support the UStandard?

The U3 standard is not supported by Intenso USB sticks

How can I remove write protection from a USB flash drive?

If your storage medium was accidentally removed from the PC during reading or writing and without “Safely remove hardware”, it is often write-protected to protect the data on it.

Intenso-International GmbH cannot provide a tool for removing the write protection. However, you can find tips and tricks on the Internet in various forums to remove the write protection.

Why is it not possible to copy music files via the backup function of the iMobile Line / iMobile Line Pro?

The current iMobile Line app only allows the backup function to copy photos. For example, to copy music files via the app, you must first open the files via the Explorer, select them via File selection in the top right-hand corner and copy them using the tool key in the top left-hand corner. The app then switches to the iMobile Line directory. You can then create a folder there or insert the file directly.

Apple (MAC OS)
My USB flash memory is not working

If a USB device does not work, first make sure that all USB cables and power cables are plugged in correctly. Make sure that you have installed all the software supplied with the device. You may be able to download the software from the manufacturer’s website.
If the device does not have a power cable and is connected to another USB device that also does not have a power cable, try connecting the device directly to your computer or to a USB device with a power cable. You may also need to remove and reconnect the other device if it no longer responds.

Message that there is not enough power available

Mac OS generates this message when

– a device attempts to draw too much power via the USB bus.
– one or more devices connected to a hub require more than the available energy.
– you have forgotten to connect a device with its own power supply (such as a printer or floppy disk drive) to the mains.

What should be done in such a case? If you are using a USB device with its own power supply, make sure that the device is correctly connected to the power supply. Otherwise, try connecting the device directly to your iMac or to a port on a hub with its own power supply. If you connect a USB device to a hub with its own power supply, make sure that the hub is connected to the power supply.

Message that there is not enough power available for all functions

The Mac OS generates this message when some, but not all, of the device’s functions can be provided with the available power.

What should be done in such a case? Check whether the USB device has its own power cable. If this is the case, connect it to a power socket. Otherwise, connect the cable for the USB device directly to your iMac or a free port of a hub with its own power supply. If you connect a USB device to a hub with its own power supply, make sure that the hub is connected to the mains.

Message that no driver was found

The Mac OS generates this message if the iMac could not find a driver for the USB device just connected in the system folder. If this message appears, you may have forgotten to install the software associated with the device, or you may have placed the device driver (the software that allows the iMac to recognize and communicate with the USB device) in the wrong location in your system folder.

What should be done in such a case? Reinstall the software driver from the CD-ROM that you received with the product or download and install the driver from the manufacturer’s website or FTP site.

Why is the displayed capacity of the hard disk lower than stated on the packaging?

The specification of the storage capacity of a hard disk is subject to the guidelines of the SI (International System of Units). Unlike Windows, this system does not measure according to the binary system, in which 1024 kilobytes are converted to 1 megabyte. The SI standard measures in 1,000 powers, according to which 1,000 kilobytes result in 1 megabyte. This different calculation results in a difference in the capacity information under Windows.

Why is the hard drive not working or why is the LED not lit?

If available, connect both connections of the supplied Y-USB cable to ensure a sufficient power supply. For external 3.5″ hard disks, please check that the supplied power adapter is correctly connected to the socket and hard disk and that you have pressed the On/Off switch on the hard disk.

To rule out a defective USB slot as a source of error, plug the external hard disk into another USB port. If this procedure is unsuccessful, please check the functionality of the external hard disk on another PC. If the external hard disk works on this other PC, there is a configuration or hardware problem on the first PC. In this case, please download all updates for your operating system and check whether a firmware update is available for your mainboard.

Files are played in the order in which they are recorded on the storage medium.

An example: You have one hundred files, then you delete file no. 50. Now you save another file with the number 101. If you use this card in the MP3 player, the files are played back as follows: …no. 47; No. 48; No. 49; No. 101; No. 51; No. 52…

The background to the matter is as follows:

In Windows, for example, you have a sort function that sorts the view of the window. However, this is not a sorting on the memory, but only a sorting of the view itself. This sorting is only performed by Windows.

The memory itself does not have this option. The storage medium fills the empty space of the deleted file with a new file and then overwrites the empty position on the storage medium. To execute a correct representation of the FAT (File Allocate Table).

If this did not happen, after a while the controller would no longer be able to tell where which file is located and would no longer be able to display it correctly.

The data is read out sequentially, i.e. in order. This results in the behavior you describe.

Why can’t the digital picture frame be switched on?

Check whether the mains adapter included in the scope of delivery is defective or have it checked by a specialist electrical retailer.

Why is playback always interrupted for a particular image?

If images are edited with an image editing program, it is possible that the image editing program has changed the metadata. Due to the large number of different digital cameras, it can also happen that the frame cannot process the metadata written by the camera. Please check this by opening an image with Windows Paint and saving it again. Windows Paint simplifies the meta data of the image. Please check the modified image again on your frame.

Why are pictures stored upright displayed horizontally or why does the digital picture frame not remember the rotation?

Pictures are not automatically rotated by the digital picture frame. Please rotate the images e.g. in the Windows photo viewer and save them again as JPG. If you only rotate images in the Windows display, they will not be saved rotated. Windows only “remembers” how the images should be displayed. However, this is not passed on to the digital picture frame.

Why does the digital picture frame keep switching off after approx. 4 hours?

Please deactivate Eco Mode in the setup settings of your digital picture frame and check the function again. Eco mode causes the picture frame to switch off automatically after 4 hours.

Is there a firmware update for the digital picture frame?

If firmware updates for digital picture frames are developed and released for publication, you will find them here on our homepage under Downloads.

Why can I only use 700 MB of my CD’s storage capacity instead of the specified 800 MB?

The production of blank CDs is prescribed by compliance with the Orange Book standard. These specifications ensure that CD blanks are produced according to absolutely identical specifications and are therefore compatible with all burners and players. However, this standard only allows a maximum capacity of 700 MB. With our 800 MB CD-R, we are going beyond the norm to meet consumer demand for more capacity. Compared to the 700 MB CD-R, the data gaps are smaller on this blank and the edge area is burnable beyond the standardized limit thanks to its optimized structure.
In order to achieve broad compatibility with all burners and players, a standard CD-R is simulated to the hardware when the blank is read. Therefore, only around 700 MB capacity is displayed. However, if overburning is activated by the burning software, up to 800 MB can be burned onto the blank, depending on the type of burner.
As you can see, there are clear differences in the structure of the 700 MB and 800 MB blanks.
For the reasons mentioned above, all current 800 MB blanks show a capacity of around 700 MB, although they can be written to with up to 800 MB.

Why can’t the CD blanks be burned or played back?

It is possible that the “ATIP” of the blank is not integrated in the software of the burner. This ATIP ensures that the blanks are burned correctly. If the ATIP is not entered, this can lead to incorrect detection and/or incorrect firing results.

The manufacturers of the individual burners therefore regularly offer firmware updates for the burners they produce. Please check whether there is a firmware update for your CD burner. This burner update can be found on the website of the burner manufacturer.

What does the RW symbol on the DVD+R blanks mean?

When manufacturing DVD blanks, we must adhere strictly to the license specifications of the DVD forums. By strictly adhering to these specifications, we can guarantee the best quality and maximum compatibility with all hardware devices.

So that the consumer can immediately recognize DVD blanks that have been produced according to these specifications, the packaging of the DVDs is provided with uniform logos depending on the format. For DVD+R and DVD+RW, this is the logo you specified with the letters RW. As this logo is binding for us as the licensee, we have no further influence on it.

The technical properties of the media are indicated by our product designation. A DVD+R is of course only written to once. The DVD+RW can be written to multiple times.

Why can’t the DVD blanks be burned or played back?

It is possible that the “MID” of the blank is not integrated in the software of the burner. This MID ensures that the blanks are burned correctly. If the MID is not entered, this can lead to incorrect detection and/or incorrect firing results.

The manufacturers of the individual burners therefore regularly offer firmware updates for the burners they produce. Please check whether there is a firmware update for your DVD burner. This burner update can be found on the burner manufacturer’s website.

Why are there now 120 minutes and no longer 240 minutes available on the blanks?

A DVD burner or recorder can record images and sound for different lengths of time depending on the mode set. In Standard Play mode (SP), 120 minutes of picture and sound can be recorded. If Long Play mode (LP) is selected, up to 240 minutes of video and audio can be recorded.

Some DVD recorders also offer additional modes with different recording times. However, it should be noted that any mode that goes beyond the long play mode will result in a loss of picture and sound quality due to the high level of data compression.

When changing our CD and DVD range, we therefore decided to specify the number of minutes according to the current standard, i.e. 120 minutes. However, the capacity remains the same, namely 4.7GB. Depending on the compression mode, you can record 120 minutes, 240 minutes (long play mode) or more.
